LOL!
Is laughing a priority for you? It sure is for me!
My world of laughter probably began when I was an infant. Apparently, my mom was changing me while my curious three-year-old sister looked on. I'm not sure what she was looking for but I hope she spotted it. To make a short story even shorter, while big sister surveyed the sights, sounds and smells of the event, I nailed her right in the forehead with a perfect shot. My first bullseye! I'm quite sure that was very funny for me.
I'm not sure how my sense of humor progressed from there, but there's a pretty good chance the age old hilarity of farting sounds played a role. Farts are a rich and fertile germination point for laughing out loud. An outstanding or even a sub-par fart delivered to someone's ear or nose is always a LOL event.
I am now a high school teacher. I'm surrounded by silliness, jokesters, and immature hijinks each and every day. Some attempts at humor are outstanding causing spontaneous fits of laughter. Other attempts are lame. In my attempts to separate the laugh worthy stuff from the not-so-funny stuff, I've learned to err on the side of laughter. I've discovered that laughter reduces stress, improves relationships and makes my job more fun.
Your attitude toward laughter is important! If you're not laughing enough in your life, hang out with funny people, read funny stuff, and maybe even FOL (fart out loud) once in a while!
